Millers Mutual’s Charitable Giving: A Year of Impact Across Our Communities
As we reflect on 2024, Millers Mutual is proud to share how we’ve given back to the communities we serve. From large sponsorships to supporting local food banks and hurricane relief efforts, our charitable giving initiatives have touched many lives. Here’s a look back at the various ways we’ve made a difference throughout the year.
In 2024, Millers Mutual made substantial contributions to key initiatives that align with our commitment to supporting the communities we serve. We are proud to have supported the following organizations this year: the American Red Cross of the Greater PA, Keystone Human Services, and HDC MidAtlantic. Through these partnerships, we were able to provide crucial resources and support to organizations that are making a meaningful difference in our communities.
- American Red Cross of the Greater PA: “One of our largest sponsorships this year was with the American Red Cross of the Greater PA, an organization dedicated to providing emergency assistance, disaster relief, and education. Through our sponsorship, we helped ensure that the Red Cross could continue its life-saving work during times of crisis. Our contribution went towards funding emergency response efforts and preparedness programs in local communities.”
- Keystone Human Services: “We also partnered with Keystone Human Services, an organization that provides services for individuals with disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. Millers Mutual’s sponsorship supported programs that enhance the quality of life for individuals in need of social services. Our donation helped to expand community-based initiatives, allowing Keystone to reach more individuals with critical services, including housing support and vocational training.”
- HDC MidAtlantic: “HDC MidAtlantic is dedicated to providing affordable housing and improving the quality of life for families in our region. This year, Millers Mutual sponsored HDC MidAtlantic’s efforts to create and maintain affordable housing for low-income families. Our contribution helped support the development and preservation of safe, affordable living spaces, giving families the stability they need to thrive.”
These sponsorships are a testament to Millers Mutual’s ongoing dedication to supporting the causes that matter most to our communities. By partnering with these organizations, we’ve been able to make a lasting impact on those in need, whether through disaster relief, human services, or affordable housing.
Event Sponsorships
Throughout the year, we also supported several local events through sponsorships, ranging from bowling with colleagues for the kids to cleaning up and organizing a Hospice House. We believe these events play a critical role in fostering community growth and ensuring people have access to resources and support.
When we receive requests for sponsorships, we carefully review the events that align with our mission, and we’re proud to have supported initiatives such as Keystone Human Services Chocolate Ball, Big Brothers’ Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake, Alzheimer’s Association Walk, Hospice of Central PA, YWCA Harrisburg Holiday Giving Program and the Mercy School For Special Learning Golf Classic.
Employee Requested Donations
Millers Mutual employees are an integral part of our charitable giving process. In 2024, we responded to several employee-recommended donation requests. These donations ranged from supporting wounded warriors to organizations focused on teaching children how to fish. By including our team in the decision-making process, we ensure our giving is rooted in the values of our employees and our company.
Hurricane Relief
This year, Millers Mutual stepped up to support the victims of Hurricane Helene through direct donations and disaster relief efforts. We donated $7,500.00 to relief organizations like The American Red Cross and North Carolina Relief Fund, helping people rebuild their homes and lives after the devastation caused by the hurricane.
Our response to hurricane relief is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing aid during times of crisis, and we remain dedicated to assisting communities in need, both locally and across our operating states.
Food Insecurities
Food insecurity continues to be a pressing issue, and Millers Mutual has been committed to making a difference. In 2024, we donated over 5,000 to food banks throughout our operating states, ensuring that families in need had access to healthy meals.
United Way of The Capital Region
We believe in empowering our employees to give back, which is why we match employee donations to United Way. In 2024, we matched up to $8,000 in employee contributions, amplifying the collective impact of our team’s generosity. Our employees donated a total of $27,813.83 through our corporate United Way Giving Campaign.
The United Way supports a wide range of programs that address health, education, and financial stability. By matching employee donations, we’re able to extend our support to initiatives that benefit our communities in meaningful ways.
In Closing
As we close out 2024, we want to thank everyone who has contributed to our charitable initiatives, from our employees who suggested causes to the organizations that allowed us to partner with them. This year, Millers Mutual is proud to have donated a grand total of $100,000, making a real impact in communities across our operating states. We look forward to continuing our charitable efforts in the coming year and invite everyone to suggest new causes we can support together.
