2025 President’s Letter

As we report on 2024 and step into 2025, I’m pleased to reflect on a year of growth, resilience, and ongoing commitment to serving our agents, customers, and employees. In 2024, Millers Mutual achieved impressive growth, surpassing $126 million in direct premiums—an increase of 12% from the previous year.

We continue to successfully apply our industry knowledge and skills to our chosen market of multifamily housing and our policyholders by underwriting responsibly in a challenging insurance market environment. Our net combined ratio was 98%, comparable to the previous year. Also, our year-end policyholder surplus level exceeded $100 million for the first time in company history. This achievement further bolsters our resources, enabling us to fulfill our promises to our policyholders to provide them with relief in trying times.

Our AM Best Financial Strength Rating of A- “Excellent” with a Stable Outlook was affirmed in early 2025 and our policyholder surplus level now constitutes a Financial Size Category of VIII. These results underscore our strong support of and position in the multifamily housing sector and highlight the dedication of our agents, customers, and employees. We’re excited to build on this momentum, continuing to provide the high-quality service and solutions you’ve come to expect.

2024 was a year of significant change at Millers Mutual. We welcomed two new Assistant Vice Presidents who have now successfully transitioned into Vice President roles. This was done proactively to address the planned retirements of two valued members of our senior leadership team. We also enhanced our work environment by setting up a new corporate headquarters, remaining in Harrisburg, PA where we have been located for over 130 years. Our new office, designed to align with our culture and support our hybrid work model, provides a modern and collaborative space for our team. This investment in leadership and infrastructure ensures we remain agile, focused, and ready to meet the needs of our agents and customers with the exceptional service you expect.

As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we’ve mapped the customer experience journey across the claims process to identify opportunities for streamlining and improvement. Additionally, we’ve enhanced security with multifactor authentication for our agency portal, ensuring safer, more efficient access.

At Millers Mutual, our dedication to the multifamily housing sector remains unwavering. We remain committed to providing consistent, reliable coverage in this critical market, reinforcing the strong foundation we’ve built with you, our agency partners.
