Karen Anuscavage is a human resources professional with over 20 years of experience, specializing in identifying, developing, and fostering talent, as well as planning and directing the administrative functions of an organization. She joined Millers Mutual as Vice President of Human Resources in early 2015. Her focus is on organizational design, compensation and benefits, training and development, recruiting and retention, employee relations, employee safety, and department leadership and oversight.Before joining Millers, Anuscavage worked for Old Guard Mutual Insurance Company and Westfield Insurance Company, where she was a relationship management specialist and performed recruiting duties, conducted employee relations investigations, facilitated in employee relations matters, and acted as an on-site HR contact for 130 employees. She graduated with high honors from Albright College and has a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology and organizational behavior.

Joe Begyn has over 15 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, specializing in underwriting, risk management, and talent management. Begyn joined Millers Mutual in 2020 as Associate Vice President of Underwriting and was promoted to Vice President of Underwriting and Risk Services in 2021. He is responsible for underwriting standards, profitability, and development of our underwriting and risk services department.Before joining Millers, Begyn was a senior commercial underwriter at Liberty Mutual Group, underwriting multi-lines of coverage that included property, general liability, workers’ comp, auto, inland marine, and more. He joined Westfield Insurance in 2011, starting as a middle market field manager before being promoted to leadership in 2014.Begyn has a Master of Science in Insurance Management from Boston University and has earned the following insurance designations: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Reinsurance, Associate in Insurance Services, Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist, and Certified Professional Insurance Agent.

Mickey Bekelja has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with more than 15 years of service at Millers. He began his career at Millers Mutual in 2006 as Accounting Manager and was promoted to Controller in 2015, where he was responsible for preparing quarterly and annual reports, financial outlooks, and forecasts, and ensuring accounting procedures complied with reporting requirements.Promoted in 2022 to Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Bekelja partners with Millers’ Board of Directors to manage, analyze, and ensure the integrity of treasury operations; partners with Millers’ business units to develop and implement fiscal capabilities that monitor and guide the company’s strategic direction and support ongoing business operations; and positions Millers well with regulatory agencies and industry analysts, banks, vendors, and ownership groups.Before joining Millers, he spent time at KPMG and Brown Shultz Sheridan & Fritz as a senior accountant, Donegal Insurance Company as assistant controller, and Andrew S. McCreath & Son as a consultant/controller. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Scott Billett has been with Millers Mutual since January 2002. He started his career in the claims department, where he spent the next eight years as a claims adjuster before transferring to the underwriting department. Over the next five years, Billett honed his skills as an underwriter and followed his passion with enthusiasm, as he was promoted to underwriting leader in February 2015.Appointed as Vice President of Operations in 2019, Billett is responsible for regulatory compliance, development, and management of the product portfolio; serves as the primary business expert for the policy administration system; leads the support services and quality control teams; oversees the annual rate review and rate making processes; and oversees the underwriting and claims file audit processes.Before he joined our team, Billett held various positions with Foremost Insurance and Donegal Insurance Group. He is an eager, lifelong learner of the insurance industry and attained the CPCU designation in 2014. Billett has a Master of Science in Insurance Management through Boston University.

Chris Campbell, a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) with additional designations in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI), Personal Insurance (API), and Insurance Services (AIS), is a veteran of the insurance industry with over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Millers in June of 2024 as Assistant Vice President of Sales and Agency Relations, he served as Director of Sales at CoVerica. In that role, he was responsible for all sales activities, including commercial, personal lines, and employee benefits, as well as managing relationships with carriers and tech companies to maximize profit and growth. Campbell holds an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University. His comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, combined with his strategic vision and leadership skills, will drive Millers Mutual’s sales and agency relations forward.

Sam Hess came to Millers Mutual in May 2016. He started his career with Millers as a senior programmer/analyst. Over the course of the next two years, Hess honed his skills as an information technology professional, followed his passion for serving people, and was promoted to Core Applications Development Leader in 2018.In 2021, Hess was appointed Vice President of Information Technology, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer. In these roles, Hess is driven to provide strong leadership and development for our IT staff and guide them to be the best versions of themselves. Hess partners with Millers’ business units to identify, develop, and implement IT capabilities that enable the company’s strategic direction; support day-to-day business operations; position Millers favorably with all organizational stakeholders and agencies; and function in accordance with applicable regulations.Before joining Millers, Hess worked for Millville Mutual as an IT support/technology developer for five years. Before that, he sharpened his skills as an IT consultant for three years. He graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.

Lisa Kozlowski specializes in strategies to harmonize people, processes, and technology to take organizations to the next level in growth and profitability. Her more than 20-year insurance career extends across business strategies, marketing programs, internal communications, branding, customer research, and strategic planning for organizations.Kozlowski joined Millers Mutual in April 2018 as Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience, where she oversees the marketing and communications programs, leads the executive team through business strategic planning, and focuses on bettering customer and agent experiences throughout the organization.Before her role at Millers, Kozlowski held various leadership positions responsible for research, branding, and marketing at Progressive Insurance and Westfield Insurance. She has a Master of Consumer Industrial Psychology degree from Cleveland State University.

Steve Zickefoose is a veteran of the insurance industry with over 20 years of claims experience. Prior to joining Millers in January of 2024 as Assistant Vice President of Claims, he served as Director of Claims at Harford Mutual. Zickefoose spent most of his career at Westfield Insurance in various claims and leadership roles supporting the staff, agents, and customers.Zickefoose is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies. He completed The Institutes UVA Darden Executive Leadership Program and holds an Associate in Claims (AIC) designation, as well as the designation of Senior Claim Law Associate (SCLA).  Additionally, he is a retired combat veteran, who served 23 years as an aviator in the United States Army.
