Mickey Bekelja Promoted to Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer
At Millers, we have a culture that recognizes the value each employee brings to our organization and are delighted when able to promote from within. On behalf of the Board of Directors and President & CEO Jeff Pratt, we are happy to announce Mickey Bekelja has been promoted to Vice President Finance, Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer, effective immediately.
Bekelja, currently serving as Controller, has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, with more than 15 years of service at Millers. He began his career at Millers in 2006 as Accounting Manager and was promoted to Controller in 2015, responsible for preparing quarterly and annual reports, financial outlooks, and forecasts, and ensuring accounting procedures comply with reporting requirements.
“Successful Millers employees genuinely care about people and feel the natural pull toward service in some capacity,” said Jeff Pratt, President, and CEO. “Mickey is not only meticulous in his work, but he also has a level of empathy needed to connect with employees, our agents, and customers. I look forward to working alongside Mickey as he settles into his new role.”
As CFO and Treasurer, Bekelja will partner with Millers’ Board of Directors to manage, analyze, and ensure integrity of treasury operations; partner with Millers’ business units to develop and implement fiscal capabilities that monitor and guide the company’s strategic direction and support ongoing business operations; and position Millers well with regulatory agencies and industry analyst, banks, vendors, and ownership groups.
Bekelja graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Prior to coming to Millers in 2006, he spent time at KPMG and Brown, Shultz, Sheridan and Fritz as a Senior Accountant, Donegal Insurance Company as Assistant Controller and A.S. McCreath & Son as a Consultant/Controller.
